Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast who was born on March 14, 1997 in Ohio, Columbus. She is considered by many to be among the top athletes. Being an U.S. female gymnast, Biles was one of the few to achieve four golds in one Games at the 2016 Olympics. Biles was also the first to hold three world titles consecutively. Biles was raised in Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area after her and her sister Adria received adoption by grandparents Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone was first drawn to the sport of gymnastics when she was only six years old. The coach Aimee Borman brought her to Bannon's Gymnastix and they took them to an outing. Biles was awarded a gold medal in the floor and bronze in vault at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010, before advancing to the elite level of competition in the year 2011. She dominated her sport just two years later. Biles was distinguished by her consistency in performance, vivacious personality as well as the difficult routines she performed in each of the four events: vault, bars with uneven surfaces and the balance beam.
